Brief Biography
Sebastián Luza Vega is a first-year DPhil student focusing on developing multi-physics computational models to investigate and predict degradation mechanisms in all-solid-state Li-ion batteries. Through his research, Sebastián aims to assist in the optimisation of battery design and material selection for enhanced performance.
Before his DPhil studies, Sebastián obtained his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of Chile, graduating at the top of his class (7/7), which secured him an ANID scholarship.
Research Interests
Sebastián's DPhil project focuses on the chemo-mechanical modelling of all-solid-state batteries, with particular attention to electrode failures. Sebastián's research interests include:
All-solid-state batteries.
Applications of the finite element method in multiphysics systems.
