Bio

Benjamin Li is a DPhil student jointly sponsored by the Materials 4.0 CDT and the industry partner Frazer-Nash Consultancy. Under the supervision of Prof Emilio Martinez Paneda, his research focuses on developing computational models to accurately predict hydrogen-assisted fatigue behaviour.

Prior to starting his DPhil, he graduated from the University of Oxford in 2025 with a Master’s degree in Engineering Science (MEng). His master’s research investigated the influence of femtosecond laser surface texturing on the high-cycle fatigue performance of welded stainless steel (1.4404).
