Biography
Mehmed Emin is a DPhil student in Engineering Science at the University of Oxford, conducting his research in the Mechanics of Materials Laboratory as a Clarendon Scholar. His research interests span a broad range of topics in solid mechanics, including dynamic fracture and fragmentation, phase-field fracture modelling, and particle dynamics.

Prior to joining Oxford, he completed his Master's degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics at Stanford University, supported by a Fulbright scholarship from the Turkish Fulbright Association. During his studies, he worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Structures and Composites Laboratory (SACL), where his research focused on composite mechanics and computational modelling.

He previously earned his Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), graduating as a valedictorian. During his undergraduate studies, he was a member of the METU Computational Solid Mechanics Laboratory, where he contributed to research on phase-field fracture modelling of dual-phase steels, with a particular focus on crack initiation and propagation mechanisms.
